love-fishThe FDA has already given their stamp of approval for omega-3’s heart healthy claims, now it appears new research has shed light on their potential as weight – control agents, or more specifically, fat reducers.

According to a study published in the journal, Lipids, the DHA in omega-3’s activates genes that break down fat. “It is well established that diets typically rich in seafood have resulted in non-obese populations” says Morton Bryhn, MD, PhD, director of research and development at Pronova Biocare (Norway).
